The evil is always right behind you. 
As soon as you turn your back, the evil will be right there to catch up to you.
Yet, as life is as much about failure and regression as it is about success and progession, one cannot avoid facing the evil. 
However, after going through the evil, one may look forward again and all one must do is to go on to live.
As long as you live, there will be the evil and as long as there is evil, you live.
